What’s the best time of year to paint my home or business?
The ideal time to paint is during dry, mild conditions — typically spring and autumn in Australia. Painting in extreme heat or cold can affect drying times and how well the paint adheres. Indoors, painting can happen year-round as long as the space is ventilated. For exteriors, we avoid painting during rain or when surfaces are damp. What kind of paint should I use for different areas?
Different areas need different types of paint. For example, high-traffic spaces like hallways benefit from durable, washable finishes like low-sheen or semi-gloss. Bathrooms and kitchens need mould-resistant, moisture-tolerant paints. Exterior surfaces require UV-resistant and weatherproof products. Is there anything I should do before painters arrive?
Interior Works - Furniture Movements:
We will move your furniture, generally to the centre of the room to provide access to walls and skirts. We will drop sheet and protect your flooring and furniture. We ask that you remove any breakables and precious objects from on top of and inside cabinets that are to be moved. On completion of each room, we will put your furniture back to its original location and clean the surrounding area.
Please can you advise the site foreman (you will be introduced to them on our arrival) of any wall hooks or holes that are to remain. (we will patch any other minor holes).
We will remove your curtains and blinds to paint window and door architraves as required. (We will not remove the fixtures and patch resulting holes unless you advise us that the blinds/curtains are not to be reinstalled) We will reinstall blinds/curtains on completion of the room.
If we are painting your doors, we will remove door handles and reinstall on completion as this will give a better finish overall. We will not take your doors off.
We won’t empty your wardrobes, walk-in cupboards and the like. We also don’t move piano’s or electronic equipment or any “fixed” items such as built in shelving, shutters, safes and the like.
Whilst we are working on your property, we will be clean and tidy with our equipment and paint and will store it on a drop sheet in a location of your choice (to be discussed with the site foreman on our arrival) and we will tidy up each day before we leave.

We will not wash out rollers or brushes at your property.
